Blogging from A to Z – G – Graffiti

You see a fair amount of graffiti in Peoria, but most of it is gang-related and not incredibly sophisticated.  Quick scribbles, really; nothing fancy.

I definitely see a lot more graffiti here in Basel.  Unfortunately, I see most of it from the tram window, so that makes it difficult to snap pictures.  I do have a few, though, of the simpler ones I’ve seen while walking around.  I need to take a trip to the train station during the daytime and get some pics of the graffiti by the tracks, but that will have to wait for another time.

(One of my “favorite” pieces was in Zurich, not Basel, so I’m not including it in this post, but you can see it on my Instagram here.)

This was the first graffiti I saw in Basel when we were here in October.

And a couple of days later I found this guy.

There’s also this cute guy.

Does this count as graffiti?

G and I found this guy when we were going to look at an apartment.  (Not the one we’re moving to next week, so we won’t get to visit with Guitarhead on a regular basis.)

Fasnacht graffiti.  So Basel.

This is near our current apartment and G loves it. She comments on it every time we pass by.

Cheese! And banana!

Not the best graffiti, but some pretty cute stuff.  I hope to get some pics of the more complex pieces at some point, though!
